My Career So Far

My professional background spans both clinical and community-based settings within mental health and developmental disability services. I’ve worked extensively with adolescents and young adults—particularly teen boys and young men—supporting individuals navigating a wide range of emotional, behavioral, and neurodevelopmental challenges in complex environments that call for thoughtful, individualized care.

This experience includes work with severe mental illness, substance use challenges, Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, and difficulties related to emotional regulation, executive functioning, and interpersonal skills. Together, these roles have shaped a grounded, skills-focused approach to care.

Journey Into Psychology

My interest in psychology grew through hands-on work with individuals and families facing significant day-to-day challenges. I became especially drawn to approaches that move beyond insight alone and support people in applying what they learn in practical, meaningful ways.

This led me to pursue formal training in clinical psychology, with a focus on understanding individuals within the broader context of their relationships, environments, and support systems.

Path to Becoming a Counselor

As my work progressed, counseling became a natural extension of my clinical and community-based experience. Alongside traditional counseling roles, I’ve worked in positions that involved coaching, care coordination, and in-vivo support—often outside of an office setting.

I’ve also contributed to the design of project-based, pre-vocational programs focused on executive functioning, emotional regulation, and job readiness. These experiences continue to inform a practical, skills-focused counseling approach grounded in real-world application.

Training and Credentials

I hold a Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology, which I completed in 2024, and have worked in mental health and developmental disability settings for over a decade. I currently serve as Head of Vocation at Autistry Studios, a community-focused organization supporting autistic adults in developing vocational, interpersonal, and life skills.

My training includes evidence-informed approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), family systems theory, solution-focused interventions, and skills-based support. Together, this work integrates clinical training with real-world application to support emotional well-being, independence, and everyday functioning.
